The normal 10, 2, 6 (on the face of a clock) insertion of the aortic leaflets is strong evidence against the presence of a bicuspid valve.


A bicuspid aortic valve shows eccentric leaflet coaptation in the parasternal long axis view. It may also appear to prolapse.
