42 year old patient with severe aortic insufficiency. No childood history of ventricular septal defect. No history of endocarditis.


Transesophageal image showing the aortic root with an abnormal space in the right sinus of Valsalva.


Right coronary ostium is unaffected (arrow).


Aneurysmal sinus communicates with the aortic root.


The aortic valve has three leaflets.

This is probably the best representation of the size of the aneurysm (arrow).
