Syncope

The syncope patient with a murmur is typically referred for echocardiographic evaluation. The clinical symptom triad of aortic stenosis is: congestive heart failure, angina and syncope. Cardiac diseases that are diagnosed by echocardiography (myocardial infarction, cardiomyopathies, left or right ventricular outflow obstruction) can have associated arrhythmias that cause the syncopal episode.

• Differential diagnosis. This is a demonstration of the Heart Disease Program. The program takes a case description through a form interface, runs the case, and returns a differential diagnosis with justifications. This demonstration will allow you to try out the form interface and to look at some sample differentials.
• Insertable loop recorder.
