The Studies of Left Ventricular Dysfunction (SOLVD) was a heart failure trial with three components. Two double-blind randomized trials evaluating the effects of enalapril on mortality, morbidity and quality of life of patients with left ventricular dysfunction with overt congestive heart failure (CHF) (Treatment Trial) and without overt CHF (Prevention Trial). The third component was a large registry.
